L-R:  Jo Coutts, Lady Captain - Janet Brierley, President - Simon Bedford, Mr Captain

Alex Wilcock, Junior Captain

A new President and three new Captains have been appointed for 2018 at Bramall Park Golf Club (BPGC).

Former Lady Captain Janet Brierley takes up the Club President role – a first for the club - while Simon Bedford has become 2018 Men’s Captain with Jo Coutts as Lady Captain. Alex Wilcock was elected as Junior Captain.

They took up their posts at the Club’s recent AGM. Making way are 2017 President Tim Greenwood, Men’s Captain Roger Souter, Lady Captain Francesca Swarbrick, and Junior Captain Niall Curwen.

New Men’s Captain Simon commented: “ I am delighted to be this year’s Gents Captain at BPGC. We have much to look forward to - particularly our open and charity events, but also some great club golf played on a very friendly and welcoming club course. Should be fun’

First ever lady to become Club President Janet said: “It is a great honour.”

Both captains are supported by experienced committees.

The club enjoys a growing membership which benefits from continued investment in the course and the clubhouse, including a fully-refurbished, beautiful, south-facing balcony, which overlooks the course.

Like most clubs Bramall Park Golf Club is actively looking to recruit players of all ages and abilities. Click here for more information on how to get involved.

Attracting new lady members is a special focus for the club in 2018 and it’s a very good time to be having a conversation as Lady Captain Jo Coutts explained: “We have come up with some very attractive deals to bring ladies into membership this year  – whatever level you are – for a limited period only - so if you have been thinking about joining a club do get in touch".

“There is a thriving ladies section, plenty of good golf of all standards and a great social life with fantastic health benefits. Keep an eye on the website for details of open days and events for the whole family.”

As well as strong Gents and Ladies sections Bramall Park has an active Junior group and an excellent ‘professional’ team led by Craig Daggitt.
