Newly appointed Bramall Park captains John Sullivan and Nicola Williams and President Arthur Hillgrove marked the start of their new responsibilities with a fun Hoe Down at the club.

The American themed social event was supported by over 70 members and was a great start to an exciting 125thyear for the club’s new officers.

Organisers reported back on a fantastic evening where members really made a big effort to look the part, with check and denim the order of the day.

Would be cowboys took their partners by the hand in a variety of traditional barn and line dances, called by Lucy and played by the excellent Devil’s Fire band.

Lucy kept everyone focused and on beat and there were lots of laughs as people mixed in – enjoying the suitably decorated ‘Corale’ Bar – a super US-style makeover on the club’s fabulous Fairway Suite – which again hosted the event in style.

Serving traditional, tasty American fare was Head Chef Ashley and his team and new House Manager Steve Barker got into the spirit by personally welcoming everyone and making sure his House team were suited and booted cowboy-style.

The next event at the club is on Mothering Sunday (31st March) where families and friends are invited to celebrate with their mums over a delicious three course lunch (kids menu available).
