Ladies and Gents Captains Charities for 2016-17

Lady Captain’s Charity 2016-17 – Horatio’s Garden – Raised £2768

The charity is named after a 17 year old school boy Horatio Chapple, who was mauled to death by a polar bear outside his tent whilst on a school expedition to the Arctic Circle in 2011.

Horatio had volunteered at a spinal injuries unit at his local hospital and had not only been determined that he wanted to become a Doctor but to create beautiful gardens for paralysed patients at not only this unit but at all 11 units around the Country after seeing a plot of land outside a window.

After his death his parents decided to set up the Charity in his memory.

Gentlemen’s Captain 2016-17 – St. Ann’s Hospice – incorporating the Am Am has raised over £100,000.

We care for patients from our Heald Green, Little Hulton and Neil Cliffe Centre sites, as well as in their own homes and communities.

We help people across Greater Manchester who are age over 18 and are affected by lime-limiting illnesses and we support their loved ones and carers too.
